I see no significant downside from a McGovern endorsement. To try to paint Clark as a radical peacenik is absurd. Hell, the guy led and won NATO's only war and beat the crap out of a real "bad guy" who's now in the Hague thanks to Clark--all without the loss of an American life. And he pushed to fight the war because there WAS an imminent threat and intervention was needed to help save 1.5 million people from the immediate threat of ethnic cleansing, not to gain control of oil or because it was an easier target than really fighting terrorism (both of which distinguish it from Iraq).
