First time I ever went to a gun show I was 14 years old. I bought a Remington 7mm magnum. Almost shot someone with it the next night. I was "home alone" for a few days, I could feed myself at 14, and I was in the family room watching TV. Some idiot started prying on the lock on the family room door so I dropped in a round and slammed the bolt home and the noise quit. I opened the door and saw tracks in the falling snow. Followed them across 6 yards and saw a car leaving. Went home and called the police.
