When Pres Carter introduced Howard Dean at Plains, GA this morning, he added "Dr. Dean is a christian"--that could only happen down South. In the North it's considered poor taste(even unamerican) to point out a person's religious affiliation in public. Why the difference? Is the North more of a melting pot than southern states?
