Bush hasn't exercised veto power enough

I agree. When he came to office, I think he was a little naive -- thinking he could buy the cooperation of powerful liberals like Kennedy by giving Kennedy what he wanted. After all, this had worked great in Texas.

It didn't turn out that way -- basically, Bush gave Kennedy this horrible education bill only to Kennedy backstab him in other ways. The Farm Bill was another huge mistake. The only other bill of this nature has been the drugs bill, and frankly, it has some benefits down the road that may make it look better.

But the point is taken -- Bush COULD have fought harder against some of these liberal spending measures.
