McGovern ran against Nixon, who resigned to avoid impeachment and whose VP (Agnews) was a crook. I'd rather not have a recurrence of the loss of '72, but I wouldn't mind at all the Days of Reckoning for the GOP that followed. I think there are similarities in that Bush and Cheney deserve the same fate as Nixon and Agnews, and McGovern and Clark are both decent and courageous men. I see a difference in that I believe the Democrats will fight much harder and more effectively to defeat Bush than they fought to defeat Nixon. Just look at the excitement and energy right now in Iowa and N.H. I believe that most Dems will get behind whoever ends up with the nomination, and I am certainly hoping that will be Clark...;-)
