TVI Weathers Adversity to Carve A Niche Market

By Jerry Knight
Monday, January 19, 2004; Page E01

Stockholders of most companies are investors, but stockholders of TVI Corp. are believers.
They believed in TVI when the Glenn Dale company went through bankruptcy a decade ago.
They believed when former chief executive Brent Molovinsky pleaded guilty to embezzling more than $800,000 while he was running the company in the early 1990s.
They believed when revenue fell to less than $1 million a year and cash flow dwindled to the point that top managers couldn't afford to write their own paychecks.
They believed when TVI stock went down to a penny a share -- and there was plenty of reason to question whether it was worth that much.
Their unshakable belief has finally been rewarded.
The once-1-cent stock closed at $3.08 Friday.
Revenue and profit tripled in the first nine months of last year. The $20 million in sales produced a profit of $3.8 million.
Things are going so well at TVI that shareholders recently approved an anti-takeover plan to prevent someone from sweeping in and buying the business out from under the people who have stuck with the company over the years and turned it around.

Next on the agenda will be getting TVI shares listed on the American Stock Exchange or the Nasdaq Stock Market, escaping the stigma of the over-the-counter bulletin board where the stock now trades.

And from the Raging Bull Boards: (Tvibooster / Bayclipper)

The net version doesn't show a nice stock chart and two photos printed in the paper. In full color the first photo shows a TVI tent in front of the Pentagon in response to the 9-11 attack. The second photo shows assembly of a decon tent taken through another one in line of the assembly process on a very busy production floor. Four tents and a catchment basin in the process of assembly can be seen in the photo. TVI Booster

Hopefully, this article will be added to the new website sooner than later...and if we are really fortunate, maybe Jerry's first page article will be picked up by a national news service. Things are coming together nicely. Bayclipper
