Take a look at ACO which owns Nanocor as an example typical hyperbolic run and pull back. ACO ran from $5 to $20... overpriced? sure... so it pulled back to $13. Thats still a lot higher than $5.

Then from $13 it ran to $25, and now its pulling back to $19.

So while the stock does pull back from the highs, each low is higher than the previous. If one can time the highs, then shorting is a great trade, but anybody caught on the wrong side of the momentum will end up in trouble.
