Not only the UN, we're back to begging the Old Europeans. Not only does NATO keep cropping up in speeches about Afghanistan, we're now back to letting Old Europe, Canada and Russia (are they old Europe or just the old evil empire?) big on US funded contracts.

CBS keeps talking about Bremmer in terms of 'desperation' re getting the UN back in for political cover. I still think the admin wants the UN so they can get some of the targets taken off of US troops AND so they can blame the UN if Iraq descends into civil war (hope not, but it's fragile out there).
