Neither would an effective UN rubber-stamp decisions made in the backrooms of any single national capital, including Washington ..... true enough, no leadership has emerged to promote UN reform, the futility of such a project under present circumstance is no doubt a factor .... remember that last time it took a world war to provide the inspiration, victors wrote themselves veto power into its charter, making it a pretense of an international parliament, it's probably fair to say it was designed specifically to prevent development of a true international parliament ... none of the members would have wanted such an animal, each for his own reasons, Stalin is often quoted as reluctant to join due to his feelings being hurt by the League following his invasion of Finland, but each would have had their own reservations
Granted it won't be easy or quick, that doesn't mean it's not time to start thinking about it, the world will still run for a long time on Que Hubo while we're working out Que Haya .... such a concentration of power in so few hands is guaranteed to be resisted, it is guaranteed to corrupt the hands who hold it, as well
What other countries would it take to make invasion of sovereign nations legitimate, hmm ... well that would take thick volumes to answer fully .... most of the democracies, in brief .... even briefer - Canada ... that is real bad when you don't even have us onside .... you yanquis do poorly in war when you start up your own, it's an historical fact, you might consider having your 'life/liberty/pursuit' philosophy set to music by our 'peace, order, and good government'
