If you are an honest and fairminded person, you can not help but change your views after reading the facts.
I doubt it.

I have a great deal of trouble getting past these facts.

How about these facts:

In the late 19th century, the European Zionists decided unilaterally that Palestine was to become their new home without, of course, consulting the Palestinians who already lived there.

In the early 20th century they raised money to begin buying up land in Palestine. In the meantime, the Palestinians were poor farmers and ranchers who often rented their land from British or Turkish landlords.

In 1917, the Zionists convinced the Brits through financial bribery to issued a Manifesto declaring Palestine as the new home of the Zionists. By the 1920s, emigration to Palestine began in earnest. Protests by the Palestinians were essentially ignored by the Brits.

By the late 1920s and early 1930s, violence broke out between the Jews and the Muslims. It became so bad that the Brits reduced the level of allowable Zionist emigration to Palestine.

By the late 1930s, the Brits were rethinking their earlier support of a Zionist state in Palestine. Soon Zionist terrorists were attacking and blowing up both British and Muslim buildings and civilians as well as military.

By the end of WW II the Brits had washed their hands of the mess and turned it over to Truman. At first, Truman fully supported creating the state of Israel in Palestine. However, as the vote approached in the UN, he began to have second thoughts. He began to realize that there was too much opposition by the Palestinians and little had been done to address their concerns and goals. The Zionists got wind of Truman's wavering and pushed up the vote in the UN. It was too late for the US to renege and the vote went through. Israel became a state created in Muslim blood.......definitely, not a good beginning.

The whole thing was never done right and the grievances of the displaced Muslims never dealt with.

1. The Palestinian people and the PA generally agree with and suport Hamas, Islamic Jihad, etc. These are not a few out-in-left-field fanatics, but have mainstream support. They have no intention of stopping killing until all jews are gone from the Middle East.

This is misstated information that is repeated incorrectly over and over again. The vast majority of Palestinians have accepted that Israel is here to stay. Its only the extremists who want Israel gone. And just for the record, we have crazy extremists in this country who get a lot of press but don't dictate popular opinion.

So far, nobody within the Arab world or the international community has shown either the desire or the ability to control them. Until that happens, the attempts to keep killing civilians will just continue.

The vast majority of the people do control themselves. Its only the fanatics who blow themselves up.

2. Hamas, IJ, etc. are intentionally, deliberately, and quite systematically targeting not soldiers, not government officials, but ordinary citizens -- young people out in cafes and shopping centers, people on their way to religious services, women, students, infants.

And who are the Israelis targeting when they fire a missle into a crowded apt. building or into a busy street? Don't hand me the BS that they are firing at a Hamas leader. If so, they are managing to take out a lot innocents in the process. And how would you like it if you have a brother who suicides and they come to YOUR house and tear it down in retaliation, or they throw your father in jail even though he has not talked to his son in five years?

There is no way I am willing to forgive or overlook or excuse this. Yes, Israel is also killing civilians and children, which is terrible. But these deaths happen in the course of targeting terrorists, attacking mobs, and the like, or in what are at least arguably justifiable military actions. Israel does not intentionally target innocent civilians and children who are just others who have placed themselves outside of the rights of law. I know of no Israeli military actions that have just gone with the intent of killing as many innocent civilians as possible. Do you?"

If the Israelis are so decent about their killings, then please explain to me how three times as many innocent Palestinians have died as compared to innocent Israelis during the latest Jihad? How can it be that the Israelis are so careful with civilian lives and the Palestinians so careless but yet so many more Palestinian children, elderly and women are dead than Israeli innocents? Please explain that one to me.

Until these two facts change, I doubt that any other facts will emerge that will make me believe that Israel should stop building its fence, or stop actively targeting those who are intentionally targeting its citizens.

If tens of millions of American Indians (proportionatly correct given the relative sizes of Israel and the US) were committed to exploding bombs in our shopping malls, airports, downtowns, churches, and the like, and killing thousands of Americans (also proprtionately correct) with the demand that we give back their land and all go back to where we came from, do you think we would be sitting back and saying "well, let's just talk peace with these folks and see whether we can give them their land back"? Nuts.

Nuts? Again the facts:

We have paid billions back to the Indians in reparation for what we took even though we paid for it in the first place albeit cheaply. In addition, we have given them huge tracts of land on which to live and do with what they please. Many have become very successful. What we did originally was wrong but we have made great efforts to make up for our past transgressions.

However, the Israelis have not paid one red cent of reparation money for all of the Muslim property they confiscated during the 1948 war. Yet, three years ago, it was the Israelis who demanded that the Swiss pay reparations for bank accts they confiscated during WW II.

Whats good for the gander ain't good for the goose? Why? How can you claim that the Israelis are playing fair and are being decent in their treatment of the Palestinians?

I do not expect Israel to do what I would not do.

For such a stupid position, in the end Israel will lose it all.....if not through violence than through demographics. The Muslim population is growing much faster than the Israeli population. Eventually, the Muslims will be able to outvote the Jews. Sad but true!
