I think you're right in aggregate scott, though it didn't take a Dean speech or website to get me energized against the bushies over three years ago :)

Deaniacs are early to a revolution - imo that type of movement won't work on a national level until something like unemployment hitting 15-20%, the market plunging and staying down, or the u.s. war machine bleeding us dry. I also think the messenger may need to have a bit more universal appeal. That's just the 'merican masses for ya.
