Oy. Zin. Read your list of cars. Some neat stuff, but.
Acura, Contour,I30,ES300, 626,Mits, Maxima,SL2, even Camry: I can't use the rear seat. Bench is too high and forces me into the back of the roof.
Accord EX: standard sunroof. I don't even fit in front.
Intrepid, Bonneville,88: front-drivers. Quite immune to any sort of fun.
Crown Vic: has potential. If rodded a little. Too bad they didn't make a direct competitor to the Impala SS, with four discs, a real tach and 275 ponies.
We drove a Dodge Insipid as a renter in Hawaii. Good people mover, but road manners were retiree-grade.
The Benz E-class is a wonder, a machine whose light spirit is belied by its dowagerly skin, but those fifty grand are a problem.
Gotta say, my pick at the moment is a three-series Bimmer, with a stick and ordered special from Munich to avoid the offending sunroof.
While I might earn your disdain as a poseur (totally incomprehensible to me now that I've seen you recommend Oldsmobiles!) I'm thinking this provides the least strained compromise between passenger capacity and roadholding panache. After all, I can't afford a Viper and an S500. (the plutocrat's solution)
Spouse operates a '96 Accord LX, the one without the sunroof. What would Jackson Racing do to one such (esp. interested in mods which improve gas mileage)?
