14th August 1997 Junior mining selloff appears over Ottawa Citizen - The wrenching selloff in junior mining stocks in the wake of the Bre-X Minerals Ltd. debacle appears to have run its course as some selective buying in recent weeks has helped the sector stage a modest recovery. That's the good news. The bad news for investors looking to make a quick buck is that this is a cautious, selective market that no one is predicting will catch fire soon. Also looming on the horizon -- a spate of year-end, tax-loss selling that could stall any nascent recovery.
