RCA to Market Internet Device for TVs

RCA plans to introduce next month a device that allows users to access the Internet through their television sets, moving the consumer electronics giant into competition with Microsoft Corp. ()'s WebTV unit. Called the RCA Network Computer, the device requires a separate phone line and costs $299. RCA said subscribers can get personalized news, weather and financial information provided by NetChannel Inc., a San Francisco Internet service. RCA's device also uses software developed by Network Computer Inc., a subsidiary of Oracle Corp.
