I don't think the analogy stands, though I understand what you're saying and agree with you. My biggest unease with this Admin is the deficits. But I also understand that a large proportion of new spending is defense and rebuilding Afghanistan and Iraq, and the tax cuts were necessary to stimulate the economy when our bag of monetary tricks at the Fed were run out. Not to mention the downturn in revenue from the recession. If nothing else, take comfort in the tax cuts expiring in 2010. Unfortunately. ;)

I admire your fortitude. But all that planning would leave a bad taste in my mouth and diminish my eating pleasure. <g> My father is a product of the depression so frugality is something that gives him more pleasure than food.

I've put on 50 pounds at least since Kristel and I have been together. Especially since I quit smoking and my sense of smell and taste have returned. >:) I'm not hurting from the savings, that's for sure.
