Derek, Safire has an interesting piece supporting the dean candicacy because it would be bush's easiest opponent. To get back in the race, he suggests dean go after clark big time to at least insure second place to kerry. That will keep dean alive and kicking thru the next round of primaries where he still would stand a chance if kerry falters(and edwards stalls). It leaves dean as the insurgent and that is where he shines best. Made all the sense in the world to me and I suspect Dean will follow this course by being nice to kerry and nasty to clark who is the clinton stalking horse. Mike
