Right in MRVC's Backyard this year. Wonder if MRVC will try to load people on a bus for a trip to Chattsworth
OFC Conference to Include Service Provider Summit on Fiber to the Home, Other Topics Posted on: 01/13/2004 The Optical Fiber Communication Conference and Exhibition will include for the second year in a row the Service Provider Summit, a day-long conference program.
The conference runs Feb. 22 to Feb. 27 in Los Angeles at the Los Angeles Convention Center, and the Service Provider Summit is scheduled Wednesday, Feb. 25.
Christopher T. Rice, senior vice president, network planning and engineering, SBC Communications Inc., will deliver the 2004 Summit keynote address. Rice will highlight the status of service provider fiber deployment plans, and outline what is needed to accelerate fiber-to-the-home construction.
Panel discussions are slated for the Summit, including one on how to develop a fiber-to-the-premises infrastructure, creating an efficient and effective long-haul network and positioning to compete in a global market. Executives from Broadwing Communications and SBC Laboratories are scheduled to speak on the panel.
The 2004 Summit will include targeted pavilions on the show floor, so organizations can showcase their newest developments in interoperability demonstrations. Attendees will learn how different vendors are working together to support international compatability and develop worldwide standards.
Online registration is available by visiting www.ofcconference.org/registration/. OFC is encouraging people to register before Jan. 23 to receive a free exhibit pass and take advantage of discounts on educational programming.
