I know that when I first started at Oracle, over 10 years ago and during the last recession- no bubble etc.- top university graduate students were getting about 50K here, THEN. In the last 10 years prices have increased about 20%. You're saying that since your profession's wages have only increased 10% that this is some sort of national tragedy? I'm sorry if the cost of living in your area is so high. I'm glad that many companies have a moratorium on expanding in California. The rest of us who buy high tech products should not be subsidizing the development of those products by engineers living in high cost regions.
