Your post infers that middle-class Americans must realize their lifestyle needs to deteriorate in order that multi-national corps can exploit slave-wage labor in 3rd world. You insist on characterizing this as exploitation. If you take a systems approach to it, though, you recognize that it's just part of the churning that goes on in the world. What is important is that we maintain a robust middle class. It is less important whether Jack or Jill is in it or not at any given point in time, only that there are enough middle class Jacks and Jills. The best way to assure the latter is to let the marketplace take its course. Recognizing that there will be some individual victims, we can take steps to help them through it, but trying to stop the process will distort the natural dynamics and could ruin everything for everybody. What you call exploitation, I call natural dynamics. They built huge manor houses & enclosed vast expanses of land for their personal use, while the starving masses were pushed off that land and into extreme poverty. This isn't then. Farming out back-office work to people in India doesn't produce starving masses. It just temporarily rearranges the players on the hierarchy.
