The common question for atheists goes something like this: "If God is all powerful, merciful, and benevolent, then why is there so much suffering, strife, confusion, trajedy, etc. among the worshippers of this God?"

I believe Job asked similar questions of God. It brings up the old Santa Claus dilemma where we pretend to understand the mind of God and can't understand why bad things happens.
