Part of the confusion about health care cost is that, as far as I know, there's no way to express the cost of health care per unit consumed. If it was reported that Americans spent 25% more on freedom fries last year, what would you make of that? Did the price per bag of fries go up 25% or did people eat 25% more, or some combination of the two? Makes a big difference in deciding what to make of that news.
