05 Nov 2003 Softbank Gp sells out Softbank Inv (0648) stake for $39M

(Infocast News) Softbank Investment International (Strategic) Limited (0648) announced that Softbank Group has on November 4 disposed of an aggregate of 437.5 million shares, or 12.04% of the company's issued share capital, through the facilities of the Stock Exchange at an average price of $0.0886 per share and realised $38.765 million as a result. Upon disposal of the shares, Softbank Group no longer holds any interest in the company.

The company states that there is currently no substantial shareholders of the company. Approximately 5.07% of the total issued share capital of the company is held by five of the directors. The company is currently considering a change of the company's name and a name change announcement will be issued on or before November 18.

According to the Stock Exchange data, Hutchison Whampoa (0013) was holding a 4.6% equity interest or 167 million shares of the company as at October 16.

Save for the above the company stated that it is not aware of any reason for the rise in share price and trading volume of the shares of the company. The shares disposed by Softbank Group represent 16.79% of yesterday's trading volume of the company's shares.
