Bush views a half full glass. The Democrats see a half empty one. A party of Pessimists. Well, them's fighting words to alot of people I know. We're really split by two visions of how to go about getting at liberalism. Democrats and Republicans agree on the fundamentals, it is in the implementation that they disagree. One side believes people need positive action by government - they need to be HELPED so that they can fully exploit liberty. The other side believes government has negative obligations - for people to fully realize their potential they need to be LEFT ALONE. I think the "left alone" branch has given us the most benefit.
