BR,

QCOM's execution in the CDMA2000 market is incredible. When they bring that performance to the WCDMA market, look out.

However, I would not read anything into the WCDMA royalties. Being sales in Europe and Japan, it is likely most or all of the (relative) increase from 10% to 12% was due to currency. WCDMA is stuck at the moment, despite two very motivated carriers in "3" and DoCoMo. Every time I see an article about FOMA test beds in Europe I cringe, but then again, I have always said WCDMA will end up being developed in the field and sent back to 3GPP, not vice versa.

IMHO, the WCDMA ramp is drifting well into 2005.
