My middle boy had to watch at least 30 minutes of the State of the Union address for history class. He wound up watching most all of it. The next day in class, the teacher asked who had watched, for how long and what did they get from it. Basically, it was my son, the teacher and two other kids that held a discussion. The teacher also asked why the other kids didn't watch as it was given out as homework. The answer from most was their parents didn't think it was appropriate material or they just weren't interest and why should the kids hafta watch if they weren't. I was in shock!
