Hi all,

I can see from many of the postings that there are some experts plugged into this thread. Therefore, forgive me for the "dumbed down" thoughts I am offering on this general topic of "Last Mile" technologies.

I am intrigued by companies that have weathered the tech, particularly the communications equipment downturn over the last few years. Among the big winners in the last year are builders. Several enterprising firms (e.g., Eagle Broadband, symbol:EAG--yes, I own their stock) market "last mile" service to builders developing entire communities. They made a change in their business model to get out of owning that infrastructure themselves in order to focus on higher margin services. A few big wins in the last year put them, it seems to me, at the forefront of providing "last mile" service to new communities.

I am curious about the size and scope of this market and whether any of the big companies may be eyeing this market. Any thoughts??
