Gee you are sounding like a liberal and you have described almost exactly the current situation. Bush is supported by the corporations and small businessmen who have cast themselves as victims of taxes and regulations. They forget that they were able to get rich in the first place under those rules. Meanwhile rights of workers are being eroded and security has all but disappeared for them. The current republican agenda is class warfare. BTW the leftists as you call them are a majority under this scenario and the battle for control is in the media which the rich have expropriated for propaganda.
