As to prescription drugs, well, sometimes you must bend to the will of the people and the MAJORITY wish to have that in Medicare. In fact, the complaint I hear is it didnt go FAR ENOUGH not that it happened.
Not only that, but it just happened to be an election year and that would snag some senior votes, or so it is hoped.

And if it bankrupts the Republic, what the H**l.

Sort of like the un-amnesty amnesty would snag Hispanic votes.

And if that causes another 10 million to stream across the southern border hoping to get caught by the next amnesty, what the H**l.

Wasn't he being praised just a little while ago because he would do the right thing regardless of the whimsy of the electorate?
