Actually, Mr Taniwha-san, my poor "trees" comment isn't worthy of your most excellent philosophical excursion on the vast potential of the human spirit.

It's really just a mundane apothegm I hear uttered by market watchers here in the States, intended to mean that 'trends don't run on forever'. There's limits to how much liquidity the Fed can add to the market. Bond buyers will insist on an inflation premium. Banks won't be able to find enough suitable borrowers. It may take awhile to get there, but the limit will assert itself.
