More interesting, to me at least, is why any of our representatives believe that they are entitled to use government property and resources, while on the public payroll, to plot political strategies that they want to keep hidden from the public. These are not national security matters which there is some justification for keeping secret. These were pure domestic politics.

Why shouldn't the public have the right to know what our public servants are doing on the time we pay them to work for us using equipment we have paid for them believing they will use it in our interests and for our benefit?

The scandal in Washington, as is often noted, isn't what's illegal, it's what's legal.
