this is America and I'm entitled to my opinion

Yes, and in America, you CAN be sued for defamation. Here you are calling me "dishonest", although you can't even back your allegations with a single post of mine where you can show me to be dishonest. This is an allegation that could potentially damage my reputation or keep people from associating with me (although in this case, I can't be worried about your posts having too much of an effect, LOL). That is defamation.

You must have misunderstood "land of the free" to mean "free to slander whomever I want". That is not the case.

you don't consider yourself an insulter, yet can be highly offended if you consider yourself insulted

Yes. And?

I don't steal and would be pissed if someone stole from me. Likewise, I take care to carry a civil conversation and generally succeed in not insulting people, and I don't like being insulted myself.

That is quite normal.

Let me put it in more everyday terms for you: As a good cheerleader, you might not like another girl on the team because she is a natural blond and you color yours. She doesn't like you because... well... I can't think of anything :-) STILL, you would NOT stick a foot out during a performance and cause her to trip and fall, because that would be beneath you. AND you would be very pissed if she tripped YOU.

Is that clearer?

is that honest?

That doesn't have anything to do with the concept of "honesty", which refers to truthfulness and sincerity.

Now: The proof. Or the apology.
