I have a file which could not be opened: I get a "file is locked. Use the 'Properties' command in the Windows Explorer to unlock the file." Once I get to the Windows Explorer, right click on the file, and pull up properties: no unlock option. I get "Read Only" and "Archive" and when I try to change either, I get:
"An error occurred applying attributes to the file: .... Access is denied."

What caused it and more importantly, how do I unlock a file?

I am running Windows XP Pro.
