Surprise, surprise, and here's my bold prediction: that's because the plan is for the US to raise rates (or putting wording out to that effect at next Wed's FOMC), not for the Europeans to lower rates. Europe's CBs are too responsible to be blackmailed into this by the Land of Oz, and I'm sure they see all the very obvious signs of inflation creeping up. Everybody (institutions, brokers, traders) is off side on this, mostly because they have a vested interest in "permanently lowering rates". You heard it here first.
