What is never said is that water vapor is the most dramatic and potent greenhouse gas. It's effects are millions and millions of times more concentrated. If a cloud passes between you and the Sun you feel the difference. Well behind the cloud you feel the absence of all the Suns heat that is mostly be reflected back into space. On a cloudy night the temperature may drop many degrees less as radiational cooling is dramatically reduced. But those clouds also reflect back the suns heat into space during the day. On a very clear day recently al frostbite spoke of global warming and that day was the coolest in fifty years.
