ARRIS Cadant(R)C4 Passes One Million Line Milestone
January 23, 2004 12:28:00 PM ET

DULUTH, Ga., Jan. 23 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- ARRIS ARRS today announced that its Cadant(R) C4 cable modem termination system (CMTS) has now over one million live subscriber lines passing through its hardware and software.

The Cadant C4 was launched in January 2002 and, by June of that year, had reached the 10,000 live subscriber milestone. By March 2003, the number had grown to 100,000 live subscriber lines, and today, just over nine months later, the one million live subscriber figure has been eclipsed - proof of the burgeoning CMTS marketplace and the C4's stature within that market segment.

Just under 400 C4s have been sold throughout the world and are currently deployed in The United States, Canada, Japan, Chile, Argentina, Poland, France, Austria, The Netherlands, Korea and Honduras.

About the Cadant C4 CMTS

The ARRIS Cadant C4 CMTS is a PacketCable, DOCSIS 1.1 and Euro-DOCSIS 1.1 qualified carrier-grade edge router/CMTS that delivers the industry's highest levels of performance in terms of capacity, density, throughput and availability. It was conceived and designed specifically to be forward compatible with new requirements such as DOCSIS 2.0, dramatically reducing MSOs' expected lifetime cost of ownership when compared to other systems requiring chassis changes to support new features. The C4 meets subscribers' growing demands for new and advanced services, while reducing operational costs with carrier-grade system scalability to tens of thousands of subscribers per system. The C4 offers a complete family of network connectivity options including Gigabit Ethernet. The fully redundant and serviceable system architecture delivers unprecedented service availability, re-defining new levels of performance to cable data customers worldwide.
