No Dennis, the Market Maker really does not have the power to manipulate the price of the stock prior to expiration. Go back and follow the posts from this past weekend and you will find extensive discussions on the natural effect of a stock to close with in a range based on options expiration. For ASND, the range is between 45 and 50 for August expiration. I have provided a table late last night which illustrates this natural effect. Trace back my posts and you will see. Wayde.
