My issue is that we should not be so strongly supportive of the Israelis.

I am supportive of any country which is trying to defend itself against terrorism and a deliberate campaign of targeting mothers shopping and children on the way to school. If Israel were doing this to the Palesinians, I would be supporting the Palestinians. But in my view, nothing -- I repeat, nothing -- excuses or justifies terrorism against ordinary civilians going about their daily lives. No matter what has been done to a people, that is not an acceptable response. It is an attack against the very concept of civilization.

Withholding someone's freedom is serious business. When it has happened in the past, American colonists committed terrorists acts against the Brits; the French against M. Antoinette and company, the Zionists against the Brits. During those times, many innocent civilians were killed.

Your attitude is an honorable one but its best kept in the ivory halls of academia. The real world is a tough one and people will do whatever it takes to be free.

The Israelis have kept Palestinian independence just beyond arm's length for over 50 years. Its not surprising it has come to suicide bombings.
