At approximately 7:30 pm, I drove by TVI last night after work. It has been a couple of months since I drove by. I was specifically looking to see if the company had started running a second evening shift. Although I cannot report any evidence of that..(Only four cars were in the lot), I did find it interesting to see a lone mobile crime scene van parked out front. As some of you know, I work within law enforcement, so my curiosity was peaked. It appears as though the vehicle was not being used to process a crime scene but was there for some other unknown purpose.

There were no other police vehicles around, and working in the county, I had not heard of any disturbance at that location. My presumption is that the vehicle was being used as part of a display and was left at the lot. It was perfectly placed so that a photographer could capture the unit, directly in front of the TVI corporation entrance and logo. It was not at curbside, as if having responded to an emergency call, but was at the grass edge.

I was intrigued enough to return back 3 hours later at around 10:30 pm, and found it to still be there, but now only one other vehicle was in the lot. So I felt I had a confirmation that this was not a response scenario, but some other affiliation between the Prince George's County Police department and TVI.

So my point is in posting this? Just wanted to share what I saw, that no second shift is yet in operation, that at least a handful of people were working until at least 7:30 pm, and that perhaps we may have some new product lines being considered. Someone asked about the use of the Topper tents by conducting child safety seat checks. Perhaps TVI is courting the use of similar fast erect technology to provide immediate protection for items of evidentiary value at crime scenes.
