The US has 5% of the worlds population we use 20% of it's resources and produce an equal percentage of pollution. China is now (as you well know) storming into the 21st century ( as they have every right to do so) with their 1.1 billion folk. What do you think another 3 or 4 Americas (pollution and resource use wise ) are gonna do? Think we got enuff oil to go around? Maybe they gonna use coal which they got a lot of. Any idea what that will do? I got news ain't no one goin back to the horse and buggy days. We all like our computers and Levi's and the third world wants and has every right to'em as well. wanna guess what the demand for protein ( fish) fueled by affluence is gonna do to the already over fished oceans? With current population trends in the US mostly caused by immigration we gonna run outa water (among lotsa other things) in less than 50 years. when push comes to shove where do you think the environment is gonna stand? Do you think they are gonna sacrifice people or wildlife? Think that re-cycle gonna solve it? Other than realistic population control measures what's the solution gonna be? I'm open to suggestions. Comming generations in big trouble...But hell that's just my opinion.
