Brian, Thanks for starting the thread.

The period from '98-'99 was marked by a really large number of IPO's. I suppose IPO's are an indicator that stock prices are extremely attractive to sellers (meaning really high). And that business will be lost by existing vendors to new startups. Also, investment dollars will be pulled from by existing companies to speculate in the new stocks.

We know that dot.com sector had a tremendous number of IPO's, and there just wasn't enough business for all of them. Same for communication equip companies.

Does anyone here recollect if the Semi-equip sector had many IPO's ?
