Mike,

Online gaming ventures can be extremely frustrating at this juncture but things are getting better! For starters, you will defintely need a Pentium 75Mhz and defintely a DirectX compatible video card to have any hope of playing the latest and greatest online games. Hate to say it, but your hardware is now considered archaic :( Of all the computer applications, games tend to obsolete hardware the fastest.

Mplayer has implemented a feature called the Inventory Control System (ICS) which is not available on any of the other online services. It automatically checks the version fo the software you have for both the service itself and the individual games and patches you to the latest version as necessary. This ensures that you have up to date software as well as reventing hacked versions from people trying to cheat. Especially important when you want to run online tournaments.

Hope you can upgrade and enter this exciting new era!

Andy
