>> No Brent, the antichrist, not satan, is referred to as the "man of sin' and the "son of perdition" <<
one and the same! satan will manifest himself as what people commonly refer to be "antichrist".
>> satan is a spiritual being <<
the scriptures also say that God is a spirit. yet God became flesh. explain that one. Jesus is called an angel in the scriptures. so is satan. Jesus is called a prince, so is satan. satan is called an angel of light in the scriptures. well Jesus is called an angel and he said he is the light of the world. if you haven't quite caught on yet, satan attempts to imitate God in all points. since God (who is a spirit) manifested himself in the flesh and walked the earth, so will satan (an evil spirit) do the same. this isn't that hard to grasp.
>> Confusion reigns when man's doctrines cloud scripture. <<
without the gift of spiritual discernment given to us by the Holy Spirit, i can see how non-literal interpretations of certain passages could appear foolish to you.
But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. --1 Corinthians 2:14
>> you take a verse from Isaiah that plainly refers to a man and apply it to satan <<
God took verses from the old testament that plainly refer to a mere animal and applied them to Jesus Christ. The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.
if a lamb in the old testament can typify Christ, how hard is it for you to comprehend that a wicked ruler of this world (pharaoh, king of assyria, prince of tyrus, etc.) can typify satan? |
