I agree too. The author doesn't even mention Edward's strongest suit: he is eloquent. A great speech giver, and fast on his feet. Bush is strikingly inarticulate for a politician, and favors words of two syllables or less. If I were Bush's handlers, I would want as few debates with Edwards as possible, but it's not possible to avoid them altogether, they are expected now.
I always rather liked Kerry as a Senator, but I don't think is suited to be President. He's intelligent and thoughtful, but has spent his Senate career leading investigations into this or that. After each investigation is over, he moves onto a new subject. Not at all like Kennedy, who has certain issues, like health care, that he works at year after year, and reaches across the aisle to put bills together. Can anybody think of a major piece of legislation with Kerry's name on it? I'm not coming up with any. Further more, Kerry is both full of himself (common to Senators), which is why he thinks he can be President, yet has a reputation for indecisiveness, a terrible trait for an executive. |
