Rarebird, this is the problem not only of the US but also of Germany, Italy and many others. The longer life expectancy of the population and the lower birth rate in the developed countries put a tremendous liabilities on all the governments.

It is only recently to bash the US the twin deficits is not a new problem. Many economist must change their economic modeling and taking into account population growth, people below working age and people over 65 and the related expenses aside from social security payment such as healthcare and elderly housing
