OT:
<<<and so... what really is the meaning of gold ?
in my eyes, a speculative commodity, with real value up to a certain % of one's portfolio? >>>
I expect a continuing increase in gold price to and beyond $400/oz
Its been a tradition in Eastern Nations to keep part of ones assets in gold or gold jewelry. If the Chinese continue to gain buying power then gifts to their "folks" may be in the form of gold objects. But perhaps there will be a change in tradition and they will give mobile phones.?
There will boom in electronics where gold plating of
connectors could consume much more than used today.
More phones=more gold.
My guess is more upside than downside to gold
