Westi, I think even if every single registered Republican in the country voted that Bush will still lose. We are in the midst of a tide change. Independents won't want to be taken over, and that's precisely what Bush is trying to do. Democrats will show in very strong numbers, aided by an intensive youth vote--votes from young people who won't wanna be dragged into the middle of Bush kicking the can for more war. Women will overwhelmingly side with the Democrats. And if the Democrats put up a strong veteran candidate, white men will realize they aren't so Republican after all.

There's no overnight cure for Iraq. The stew of violence, no matter what level of American involvement, will continue at election time. The UN will do its best, but leaders worldwide will realize the US got them involved too late to make a real difference. Iraq's surrounding countries may find themselves in turmoil also.

Bush will see this. So don't be surprised if America is involved in another war during the next election, this in the GOPwinger belief that America will reelect a wartime president. But that won't work either as people will have had enough of him. They'll want him out of office. Pronto!
