Kennedy knew long ago that the only way he could recover from his tragic incident was through a strong commitment to his ideals and hard work. And that's precisely what he's done these past decades. He remained focused on the issues, not the gobbledigook. Yes, people in Massachusetts like him. In his olden years, he's become a bit of a folk hero. Same can be said of Senator Byrd who overcame the influence of the Ku Klux Klan. Senators Thurmond, Helms and others all seemed better as they grew older. American respect the elderly, even if the present Congress and White House do not.
