Not entirely true. But close enough.

I recall several years when congress passed a law limiting the milk subsidy to 2 million dollars per farm.

Why any at all? You really, REALLY can't make money selling milk? Or are people just THAT determined to hide the actual cost from themselves?

Bush's budget for 2004 is supposed to limit increases in spending to 1%. We'll see.

But even if it does, what happens once that Medicare drug bennie kicks in? $400B to start, remember? And surely headed UP.

I'm hoping conservatives will lean VERY heavily on their Congresscritters to put a stop to this. (Or are those people where the problem comes from? "Don't tax me, don't tax thee, tax that fellow behind the tree.") Bush may get reelected, but hopefully will be staring a Congressional revolt straight in the eye.
