Kerry, realistically, the UConn women either are in a funk this season or the rest of Division 1 has gotten much better. Given how much trouble UConn is having with Big East teams, I'd say it's a little of both but mostly the fact the women don't have a good inside game. Obviously since this same team won it last year they are certainly capable of winning it this year. However, in retrospect, perhaps the fact the 4/5 of the 2002 undefeated championship team graduated might have made many teams underestimate them in 2003. Not this year.

As for the men, they definitely have the talent to win it all. That's why they were a pre-season #1. They've shown that when they really put their heads into the game they can dominate (i.e. like they did against Oklahoma and to some degree Georgetown and Pittsburgh). The problem is that the Big East is so strong this year (the strongest it has been in recent memory and probably the strongest conference in the country) that they really have to be mentally up every game or there's a good chance they'll be upset. In the long run, however, I think the increased competition will make them that much more prepared for the tournament... and Jim Calhoun has shown he knows how to consistently win there.
