True - and it's ironic (and mistaken) that so many people (speaking generally - not about anyone specific here) try to paint one group of countries as perpetual saints while the others (which those people don't like for whatever reason) are craven, spineless, greedy slimeballs who love doing anything we consider bad.

It's the playground view of foreign affairs that prevails on much of SI. Even a quick glance at history shows bad choices and bad associations by just about every country on earth at one time or another.

And it's an attitude that undermines what respect is left for the US around the world.
